The 2016 Sod Busters Fun Fly is over. What a great success it was! We had some 40 pilots on the sign up sheets. The best ever. The winds were not what you would call kind and gentle but, rather challenging. That didn't seem to bother anyone as the sound of engines whether gas or electric was pretty much consistent most of the time. Thanks to all Sod Buster members who so willingly assisted whether it was mowing the field, flipping the burgers to serving the food. We served some 50 burgers, 40 of the Nathan hot dogs. Special thanks to my wife Rheba who so willingly year after year has provided us with her famous brownies which seem to go over so well. Thank you guys for your nice compliments! The big prize winners were and congratulations to: Jim McGuire for the Radian 2 meter electric glider Wyatt Walton for the foamy Sport Cub Thanks to Donovans Hobby and Hobby Town for their support. Thanks to all who came and we should all be thankful for such a fun hobby we have and great people like you who enjoy it. This months meeting is coming up soon. Mark your calendar for Wed eve about 6:30, Sept 21, at the field. Maybe we could have some 'night', lighted airplanes/drones and do a little dusk flying.
